Longboard Photoshoot

For  my first photo shoot I went to the Arboretum in Nottingham City Centre and the Victoria Centre Car Park. I was trying to get some photographs using panning, this is when a moving object is in focus but the background is blurry. This is achieved by moving the camera at the same speed as the moving subject matter. I used a shutter speed of 1/100 of a second, if I had it to fast the background wouldn't have been blurry and any slower the whole photograph would have been completely blurry.

These three photographs were the best photo's from the shoot. I was annoyed that wheels are missing from the bottom of the second photograph, but the hands are in complete focus. The board and the rider are all in the first photograph however the hands are a bit blurry. They were the best because the rider is in focus and the background is blurry, at the beginning of the shoot I had to keep readjusting the shutter speed and aperture as it wasn't working at first. After I got the settings on my camera right and got the technique right I took these photographs.

After I took the photographs I used photoshop to edit them, I cropped them and made some parts of the photograph colour and the rest black and white. I did this buy cutting the part I want in colour out and making it a new layer, after that you make the background black and white.
